Come and celebrate our first event of the year! We will be working on one of Cedar Glen's latest major initiatives or smaller tasks in support of the organic farm. Past projects have included creating the amphitheatre fire pit, painting the amphitheatre stage, building composters, and trail maintenance. We will meet at 9:30 am for a small breakfast where we will join teams for the morning, enjoy a lunch together, and continue with light work in the afternoon to finish off the day. This is a morning and afternoon event, which will take place rain or shine, with alumni and their friends and family are invited. Please RSVP to email@example.com before April 20th, and be sure to mention any dietary restrictions.

Know where your food comes from.
YMCA Cedar Glen is home to a 4 acre organic farm, producing vegetables for sale at Farm Stands and through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and enjoyed by visitors eating in our dining hall. The organic farm educates campers and students about organic vegetables and sustainable agriculture, and healthy food. A few of the 60 varieties of crops include: arugula, green onions, beans, dill, cabbage, beets, beans, basil and more!
Learn how to buy fresh produce!
What is a harvest share?
The harvest share is an opportunity for you to get a weekly share of produce during the growing season. Membership is offered from July 3rd to November 16th, 2018 and grants you access to a share of our harvest available for pick-up on a weekly basis at a time that is convenient for you. Every week, you will receive an email with the list of vegetables available at the farm for that week.
Why choose the YMCA for your harvest share?
Fresh, local, organic food – organized around community action. By choosing us, you are supporting community agriculture and helping us meet youth education goals. In July and August, the YMCA Cedar Glen Organic Farm is home to our farm camp, where young people aged 6-12 learn how to grow food and why it matters. Not to mention, you get taste and freshness that’ll make any grocery produce green with envy!
For any questions e-mail the Cedar Glen Farm or call (289) 926-8659.
Plans have been approved to renovate the lower level of the main lodge into a fully licensed child care facility. Supporting our growing local communities this child care centre will offer infant, toddler and preschool programs. Construction will begin later this spring with the child care set to open in early 2019.
To allow for these important renovations, we'll need to close the lower level of the main lodge and adjust some of our program areas such as the lodge campfire pit for short periods of time. Beyond that our overnight accommodations, summer day camp programs, dining hall food services, organic farm and all other program areas like our ropes courses, outdoor pools and much more will be open and ready for your next visit. We know how important it is for you to be aware of this exciting news in advance of your visit. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait for your new-and-improved Y to be ready!
Thank you for your support as we work to modernize our centre. If you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
