Photo & Video Policy

YMCA of Greater Toronto strives to ensure that our centres are inclusive places where everyone can shine. This means that our members, guests, and staff need to feel safe and that their privacy is respected at all times. We understand taking photos and videos is common, and we want to ensure that the Y is a place for everyone to enjoy.

If you are considering capturing photos or videos at a YMCA of Greater Toronto Centre of Community, please keep the following policies in mind:

Taking photos, video recording, live streaming, making video calls, or capturing any imagery on any personal device is strictly prohibited in change rooms and pool areas.

In areas such as the gymnasium, conditioning floor, and studios, taking photos or videos is permitted, provided no members, guests, or staff are captured in your photo or video without their prior verbal consent.

Photos or videos of minors are not permitted under any circumstances except those taken by a parent or guardian.

YMCA staff may ask to view any photos or videos taken on-site to verify compliance with these requirements, and your cooperation is appreciated.

The following are not permitted at any time: live streaming, virtual coaching, and the use of additional videography equipment, such as lighting equipment, reflective materials, and audio equipment.

Any report of a violation of this policy, whether from a YMCA staff person or member, will be resolved promptly and professionally, with priority given to the safety and privacy of all members.
