YMCA of Greater Toronto Recognized as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top Employers
Toronto – December 5, 2023 – The YMCA of Greater Toronto is honoured to be selected as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top Employers for 2024 – the 16th year in a row that the charity has received the recognition.
The YMCA of Greater Toronto offers an enriching environment where employees not only spark potential in others but in their own careers. It offers a variety of employment opportunities including early childhood educators, lifeguards, employment counsellors, camp counsellors, shelter workers and outdoor educators. With more than 460 locations across the Greater Toronto Area, many employees find rewarding careers in their own communities.
“Our charity’s employees are the spark that helps people in our community reach their potential,” says Lesley Davidson, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toronto. “It’s fitting that we also offer employees a work environment where they can shine in their careers.”
To support employees, the YMCA of Greater Toronto offers parental leave top-up payments, subsidized child care when new parents return to work, opportunities to connect socially with colleagues, and access to health and fitness facilities with swimming pools, indoor running tracks, and group fitness activities from basketball to yoga, and pickleball to aquafit classes.
In addition to being among the 2024 Greater Toronto’s Top Employers, the YMCA of Greater Toronto was also recognized in 2023 as one of Canada’s top employers for young people and a best green employer.
