First Aid Courses
Learn CPR skills and the signs, symptoms and care of choking, non-breathing and pulseless victims. Includes how to use an AED unit.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to take this course.
Duration: 3 hours
Learn to deal with injuries and medical emergencies at home, work, or play. Basic First Aid includes how to contact emergency medical services, rescue breathing, how to treat choking and minor injuries.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to take this course.
Duration: 4 hours
Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include: victim assessment, CPR, choking and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack, and stroke.
Includes CPR-B certification.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to take this course.
Duration: 6-8 hours
- This is the WSIB-recognized certification required by Early Childhood Educators, Dental, Electricians, Sports Coaches and many other professionals.
- Designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid and CPR
- Incorporates all Emergency First Aid content as well as spinal injuries, burns, heat stroke, hypothermia, broken bones, sprains, dislocations, impaled objects, and other life threatening medical emergencies
- Includes CPR-C certification.
Prerequisites:There are no prerequisites to take this course.
Duration:14-16 hours
Pre-requisite:
- Your Standard First Aid course must have been completed with the Lifesaving Society (no other provider is accepted) and be within 36 months (3 years) of the full course. We require proof of certification and instructors will request a copy of your certificate to ensure eligibility.
- If it has been more than three years, or you did recertification for your last course, you are required to do the full course this time. The recertification requirements are WSIB approved.
