The Benefits of Bollywood

If your workout routine's plateaued, the best way to get back on track is to shake it up. Trying something new will tap into different muscle patterning and keep you more mentally engaged. If you typically stick to the weight room and cardio equipment, throw a curve ball at your muscle memory with a Bollywood dance class.

What is Bollywood? 

The term Bollywood comes from the Indian film industry and is associated with a fast paced, high energy dance style that's being incorporated into many fitness routines. At the Y, Bollywood classes fuse traditional Indian dance moves with popular Western styles including jazz, hip-hop, and modern.

What are the benefits? 

You'll get a full-body workout as your instructor guides you through upbeat, cardio-intensive routines. Your memory and concentration will be put to the test, as you work to learn and practice new sequences of movements. Best of all, you'll be having fun with your whole family! These moves are simple enough for everyone to learn and enjoy.

How do I join in? 

The Brampton Y's Family Bollywood class is a drop in program, so all you have to do is show up! Meet us in Kaneff at 1:00, and be ready for a full hour of fun. Be sure to wear comfortable workout wear that will let you try all of these new moves.
