Free Halloween festivities at the Cooper Koo Y
Kick your trick-or-treating plans into high gear with a stop at the Cooper Koo Y this Halloween. Here are four festive activities we’ll be running on October 31st that you and your little ones won’t want to miss:
1. A Mad Scientist will be making our regularly scheduled Family Gym spookier than usual. Drop by between 10:00 am – 12:00 noon to start the day off with some playtime in this toy-packed program.
2. Get involved with Old Town Toronto’s Pumpkin Parade by carving a jack-o-lantern with us. Bring your creative ideas to Family Gym from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, where we’ll have pumpkins and carving tools available, or you can bring your own. (And don’t forget to join us in St. James Park on November 1st from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, when Old Town Toronto will be displaying your pumpkins, giving out prizes for the best ones, and serving up free hot chocolate and apple cider.)
3. Have some awesome costumes you want to show off? Enter our after-school costume contest at 4:30 pm for your chance to win a prize before you head out trick-or-treating.
4. Come visit us any time on Halloween for your fill of treats. We’ll be passing out tasty goodies all day.
Make Halloween 2016 one to remember by trying one (or all!) of our kid-friendly activities. We want our whole community to have a fun-filled 31st, which is why we’ve made these events free and open to everyone: even if you don’t have a YMCA membership, we’d love to see you and your kids carving pumpkins, showing off your costumes, or just stopping in for a free tour and some candy. In case you haven't visited us yet, the Cooper Koo Y is located at 461 Cherry Street, at Front Street in the Canary District.
