The Cooper Koo Family YMCA is a legacy building from the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. Developed in partnership with Waterfront Toronto, Infrastructure Ontario, and the Province of Ontario, our newest Centre of Community provides programs and services designed to support healthy living for people of all ages and abilities.

Summer Day Camp

YMCA Day Camp programs will keep your child active and engaged throughout the summer months with fun, structured activities in a welcoming environment that encourages and instills positive values. Campers will develop new skills, make new friends, and build self-esteem and confidence under the supervision of a highly trained YMCA staff team.

Programs include: Creative Arts, Dance & Drama, Eco Camp, Science, Multi-Sport Combo, Wacky Sports, Variety and Media Arts Programs. 

This location also offers "Discovery" camp, a great introduction to camp for your 4 and 5 year olds! Please Note campers must be 4 years old by the first day of the program.

Lifesaving Courses

This June, we're offering two of the Lifesaving Society's Bronze level courses. Both our Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross certification courses will run on Saturdays and Sundays from June 17th to June 24th, from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Bronze Medallion: In the second of the Lifesaving Society’s Bronze level courses, participants will develop an understanding of lifesaving principles and learn the skills needed to manage an aquatic emergency successfully. By taking this course, you'll also receive your Emergency First Aid with CPR-B certification. Participants must be either 13 years old, or have their Bronze Star certification to participate in this course. If a participant is not yet 13 years of age, they must provide proof of their Bronze Star certification on the first day of class.

Bronze Cross: The last of the Lifesaving Society’s Bronze level courses is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training. This Bronze Cross course includes an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities, and is the prerequisite for all advanced training programs, including National Lifeguard and Instructor certifications. Participants in this course must have their Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid Certifications, and must provide proof of these certifications on the first day of class.

Our Standard First Aid with CPR-C courses provide comprehensive training on all aspects of First Aid and CPR, including how to respond to spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, and medical emergencies.

Whether you're a total beginner or seasoned yogi, we've got the perfect class for you:

  • Yoga Foundations: Tuesdays from 9:30 am – 10:00 am. Never done yoga before? Get started on the right foot with this intro-level class, where you'll learn basic poses, postures, and breathing techniques.
  • Yoga Progressions: Fridays from 10:00 am – 10:30 am. Take your practice to the next level in this more advanced class, where you'll learn new moves meant to challenge your body and focus your mind.

Small Group Training

Get a personalized workout program from a fitness professional at an affordable rate by training with a small group of like-minded others. You’ll get close attention from an exercise expert and a routine that caters to your unique goals, but you’ll also get to spend quality time with your partner or a whole group of friends. Your trainer can teach you about functional fitness, TRX, the Queenax and more.

How it works:

  • A YMCA personal trainer will guide you through your custom workout in a small group of no more than six people.
  • Each session is a full hour.
  • Beginner and advanced groups are available.
  • A minimum of three and a maximum of six people are in each group.
  • You can sign up with a pre-arranged group of friends, or join independently and be matched with a group.
  • Packages of four 60-minute sessions are only $80.
