Celebrating our YMCA City Builders: The Counselling Foundation of Canada
We are deeply thankful to everyone involved in the Counselling Foundation of Canada for following in the footsteps of the late Frank G. Lawson, and for championing learning and career development to help nurture the gifts and talents of people living across our communities.
At our Y, we believe in the Foundation’s vision to see all Canadians living purposeful and productive lives, helping build a better, more prosperous society. As part of this critical work, the Foundation is currently partnering with us on the Donald G. Lawson Leadership Development Fund. Established to honour Donald’s remarkable legacy as Past Chair of the Foundation Board, the fund ensures YMCA staff have opportunities for continuous learning and funding for both formal and informal educational programs and experiences.
The Foundation also made an endowment to establish the Jean Hamm Leadership Development Scholarship Fund for young women attending our YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Center as leaders in training. And our thriving YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre is part of our Y thanks to the exemplary vision and generosity of the late Jean Hamm, the Foundation and its members and board, Donald and Lorraine Lawson, and all family members involved, including Douglas Lawson current Board Chair, and Bruce Lawson, current President (on sabbatical).
Always putting our communities first and continuously providing our organization with support, is what makes the Foundation — and all its members — exemplary YMCA City Builders.
Thank you to our YMCA City Builders and all of our donors for your spirit of giving. Together, you are building vibrant communities where everyone can shine! To read about some of our other donors and their impact, visit ymcagta.org/Donors.
