Celebrating our YMCA City Builders: Goldie Feldman, Daphne Wagner, David Green, and Lita & Michael Green

YMCA City Builders are philanthropic leaders who have generously given 1 million dollars or more to date to the YMCA of Greater Toronto. On October 17, 2019, we proudly honoured Goldie Feldman, Daphne Wagner, David Green, and Lita and Mike Green as they were inducted into our growing circle of esteemed YMCA City Builders. A longtime donor to the Y, Goldie Feldman has impacted the lives of countless individuals and families across the GTA. Her gifts to our YMCA Centres of Community — such as North York YMCA — has provided critical programming and supports to children, youth, newcomers, families, and older adults. She also generously supported YMCA Sprott House, which provides housing and wraparound supports to youth who identify as LGBTQ2S+ and are experiencing homelessness.
It was thanks to Goldie that her son, David Green, and his wife, Daphne Wagner, first connected with the Y. But it was their daughter Lita’s best friend’s dad — former YMCA of Greater Toronto Board Chair, Tim Penner — who encouraged David to get involved. Since then, David has shown volunteer leadership on both the YMCA Board of Directors and the Strong Start, Great Future Capital Campaign Cabinet. As a family, Daphne and David, alongside their children Lita and Michael, chose to make a significant gift to Strong Start, Great Future, allowing us to reach more people in more communities across the GTA.
