In follow up to our previous post about Day Camp Directors, we wanted to shine a light on some other extraordinary people who work hard behind the scenes to ensure our campers and staff have an incredible summer!
These are our seasonal Administrators, Camper Care Coordinators, Program Coordinators and Senior Directors!
At the Y, a team made up of an Administrator, a Camper Care Coordinator, a Program Coordinator and a Senior Director come together to oversee seven of our 55 different Day Camps. We refer to this grouping of camps as their “pod.” The team works together to ensure that the staff at each of the seven camps they oversee has all of the support they need to provide an amazing experience to our campers and their families.
When we asked Ashley, a returning Camper Care Coordinator what keeps her coming back, she shared,
“Hands down the best part of my summer, is working with a camper who is struggling to have a good time at Camp. They may be nervous to make new friends at first, but with a little bit of extra support they are able to overcome this and have an incredible time!”
When we asked one of our new Administrators, Kaitlyn, why she is choosing to work in a behind the scenes role at our office (when let’s be serious, we all know the most fun is with the Campers!) she made a great point,
“The administrative part of an organization plays a big role in its success. I want to contribute to making sure everything is organized and running smoothly. And of course people love getting paid for their hard work so that’s important!”
