Acclimate yourself
Your body takes time to adjust to the new temperatures that each season brings, so when you turn your workouts into outdoor activities this summer, make sure you pace yourself and take a week or two to slowly increase your workout duration and intensity.
Exercise moderately
Tone down the intensity while working outdoors in the summer to keep from overheating, and stick to shaded pathways to stay you protected from direct sunlight.
Choose your outfit wisely
Stick to dri-fit fabrics that reflect the suns heat and keep the body cool.
Stay hydrated
Drink two glasses of water at least 15 minutes before you leave for your workout. Pour yourself another glass when you get home, and sip water regularly throughout your workout.
Avoid the hottest times of the day
Try to work out early in the morning or after sunset to avoid overheating. On really hot days, don't even attempt to exercise outside between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. when temperatures and pollution levels are usually the highest.
