Seniors programming: Stretch on Wednesdays

Older adults have a vital role to play in our community. When you're active, healthy, and involved, everyone benefits from your experience and mentorship. Take steps towards improving your health by dropping in to the Toronto Central YMCA's Stretch class tomorrow morning at 7:00 am.



What does the class involve?


Stretch is a muscle conditioning class designed to improve flexibility. Your instructor will guide you through a series of movements and poses that will gently loosen your muscles and joints. These exercises target a variety of major muscle groups, making your entire body more limber.



How will my needs be met?


YMCA group fitness classes are designed to be inclusive and welcoming for people of all ages. Our certified instructors help you set the perfect pace for your workout, allowing you to gently challenge your body, without overdoing it. They've been trained to tailor exercises to suit your needs, helping you build up to more difficult poses slowly and steadily.



What are the benefits?  


Our Stretch class helps you improve your range of motion, or the extent to which you can move your muscles and joints in different directions. As a result, you'll experience fewer aches and pains, and be able to perform everyday activities more safely. Stretching also helps relieve stress, so by taking an early morning Stretch class, you're setting yourself up for a tension-free day!
