No-mess lunches you can bring to the office

Too many lunch breaks are wasted waiting in line to use the microwave in the office’s shared kitchen, or hunting for a fork because you forgot to bring one along. These easy-to-prepare lunches are meant to be eaten with your hands and produce minimal mess, so you can keep your desk crumb-free.

1. Wraps

Sandwiches get old fast. Swap out processed meats for fresh or grilled veggies wrapped in a whole grain tortilla spread with hummus.

2. Falafel

Although traditionally made with chickpeas or garbanzo beans, there are also a ton of tasty recipes that use lentils and add extra veggies. Wrap your falafel in a soft pita, or dip it in tzatziki or hummus.

3. Muffins

A tasty classic, muffins packed with nutritious ingredients typically have the added bonus of being pretty dense — so they won’t get squished in your bag.

4. Quiche

Make (or buy) crust that’s a little less flakey to reduce crumbs and the need for a fork, and pack your quiche with broccoli, tomatoes, or zucchini to get your serving of veggies.

5. Smoothies

Either blend in some high-protein, fibrous ingredients that will keep you feeling full, or pair your smoothie with veggies and dip for a well-rounded lunch.
