Local youth to showcase their talent at Rep Your Region finale

The YMCA of Greater Toronto will be hosting its annual Rep Your Region youth talent showcase at Vaughan Mills on Saturday, June 24th, 2017. The evening, beginning at 6PM, will feature 9 talented local finalists singing, dancing, playing guitar, drumming, and more.
This event marks the finale of the 5th annual Rep Your Region talent showcase, which demonstrates the impact a live event can have on the community at large. Each year, youth aged 11 to 29 from across the GTA audition in hopes of making it to the final showcase event. In an age dominated by social media and rapidly advancing technology, live events and opportunities for self-expression have become even more important ways to help young people build confidence and express themselves.
Self-expression is a familiar concept to the youth participants of Rep Your Region. The courage needed to perform, be it through spoken word, singing, or dancing is admirable, and the YMCA is proud to host an event that can support youth courage and self-expression. The dedication and creativity is palpable the moment you arrive at a Rep Your Region event, and the welcoming atmosphere only reinforces feelings of togetherness.
Rep Your Region encourages individuals from all age groups to unite, embodying the YMCA and its core values of inclusiveness and respect. It’s an event not to be missed, so join us on June 24th at Vaughan Mills for this year’s finale. We can’t wait to see you there!
