Is your Career bringing you the satisfaction you want?
At a Crossroads in Your Career
Have you ever been sitting at your desk, in the middle of your work day, wishing you were doing something else with your life? Perhaps your work isn’t bringing you the value and the satisfaction it once did, or you are feeling underutilized. You desire change, but feel hesitant about jumping into the unknown. This can be a difficult crossroad and you might find yourself feeling lost and overwhelmed.
The YMCA’s Career Planning Services have been helping individuals for over 65 years discover themselves and what career direction is best for them. These services are different than some of our other employment and job seeking programs, which focus more on job searching. We help people establish career goals by focusing on their natural strengths and abilities. State of the art assessments and one-to-one counselling sessions provide a personalized approach to career development. Every day, individuals who are at cross-roads come to us to discover how they can make the change they need in their personal and professional life.
Lynn Davies, Career Counsellor at the YMCA says, “you owe it to yourself to find a career where you can make a contribution while supporting your individual well-being and satisfaction”.
This may be a good time for you to pause, to discover, and to learn about your unique strengths, aptitudes and abilities, and the types of people and work environments that energize you. It’s beneficial to take this time to explore the possibilities so that you can feel confident about your future direction.
Step 1- Uncover the career path you want today.
