Here are some of our top etiquette tips for you to keep in mind during your next workout:
- DO keep grunts to a minimum and your speaking voice low. A lot of people wear headphones and don’t realize the amount of noise they are creating. Try only using one earbud for the first few minutes of your next workout to test your noise levels.
- DON'T hog the machines. Although circuit training is a great workout, be mindful that you're not using too much equipment at once. Don't keep others waiting too long to start their workout.
- DO keep the area clean. The YMCA is like a second home to many of our members, so please treat our facilities like your home too! Pick up after yourself, put all equipment and weights back where you found them, and wipe off machines when you're finished with them.
- DON'T bring personal items with you while you exercise. Belongings such as gym bags, coats and shoes should be left in the change room to prevent cluttering our workout space.
