It's been said that "if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you". This week, we're up for the biggest fitness challenges of the year, and we hope you are too. Our members, friends and families are putting themselves to the test--12 hour yoga sessions, all-night dance parties, team challenges, squash tournaments--all this and more to raise funds and make an investment in healthy communities.
Over the years, many people have set some amazing goals and reached them--400 squats on a Bosu Ball, climbing the famous starcase at our Central Grosvenor location 150 times (that's a whopping 15,000 steps!), and even a Guinness World Record for the longest distance achieved by a team on treadmills at our Toronto Sheppard location!
For the last 5 years, we've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for those in our communities who would otherwise have no means to be able to learn a new sport, make new friends, and be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. When our neighbours are healthy, we're all healthy! Join the many people in our communities across the GTA and challenge yourself to reach (and surpass) your personal best, while helping others at the same time.
A win-win situation if we ever saw one!
Are you up for the challenge? Here are three ways you can step up:
1) Visit your local health and fitness centre to sign up with one of our staff
2) Sign up online: https://my.ymcagta.org/NetCommunity/Megathon2015-Home
3) Sponsor your friends and family who are taking the challenge!
We hope to see you this week!
