“Back to the Future”: An Evening of Celebration
The YMCA has a long history of providing excellent programs, helping members of the community reach their life goals, and providing safe and welcoming spaces for vulnerable people.
At our Y, we are incredibly fortunate to have 6,000 employees who are passionate and committed to our mission and vision. They work hard every day to deliver exceptional service and programming to the members in their care, ensuring the history of the Y’s values are kept alive and well. As one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employer for eleven years, one unique element that sets us apart is the number of long-service staff (10 or more years of service) who come to work each day.
The 2018 dinner and ceremony was held on December 6th and was hosted by YMCA staff alumni, Donna Morrison. Held at the Central Y, recipients and guests came together to share memories, laugh, celebrate, and be recognized for their career achievements (and grooved to a 3-piece band!).
In 2018, 214 staff celebrated a career milestone including one staff who celebrated 35 years and another 40 years of outstanding service!
These staff, and their colleagues who have celebrated milestones before, have been with the Y through good times and bad, through years of growth and achievement – they themselves are a part of the Y’s history. The Y is privileged and grateful be a part of their passion, dedication and expertise.
Congratulations to all our 2018 recipients!
