5 Things to Do With Your Family at the Y on Family Day
Family Day is just around the corner, and it’s time to plan some holiday fun with your family! We've got many activities that get you quality with the whole family AND have fun at the same time. All eight of our Health and Fitness Centres will be open on Family Day (Monday, February 16th) to provide recreational activities--FREE of charge!
Take a tumble with your tot at Family Gym
This interactive gym program introduces our youngest members (5 and under) to fitness and helps establish a foundation for active living and is a great opportunity for families with young children to get involved in physical activity together!
Make a splash
Pool time is a family favourite at the Y, and our Rec Swim/Family Swim times and "Tot & Me" classes are perfect if you like to enjoy recreational activities in the water and want to introduce your tots (5 and under) to the pool.
Y Knot Abilities Programs are for children & youth with physical disabilities and their able-bodied siblings. Through pool-based activity, your kids learn to focus on their abilities while developing strength, independence and confidence--not to mention the great opportunity to make new friends.
No matter what pool program you choose, bring your bathing suits, towels and a willingness to get wet and have fun!
Dance Up a Storm
Need to shake off the winter blues? Try our Family Dance class! It's an instructional dance session that teaches you basic dance moves and routines, with an emphasis on fitness, fun and individual creativity. Here's just a sample of the styles you might be dancing: latin, ballroom, line dancing, belly dance and more!
Be a Team Player
Looking for a challenge and a great time? You'll love our Sports and Games program, where you get the opportunity to play your favourite team sports! Benefits for your kids: they learn about team building and develop their own skills while playing games.
