Description
This class is for beginer dancers with no prior experience dancing in this style. Ballet helps to improve coordination, flexibility and strength in an engaging and fun classroom environment. Class structure including barre, center work, adagio (slow controlled graceful steps), allegro (fast, high energy steps) and reverence, emphasizes correct posture, placement, technique and musicality. Ballet is a strong foundation for dancers interested in jazz and lyrical/contemporary.
Location
This family-friendly centre offers health and fitness services designed to help people of all ages get active, as well as child care and community-building programs. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year. A large, private lot on-site provides free parking for members.

Notes
Dancers must come in appropriate dance attire. No jeans, no track pants. A black leotard, and ballet shoes are mandatory for this class. Please bring a water bottle to each class.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND MAKE UP CLASSES:
Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund. Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
Make up classes will be offered if a class is cancelled by the YMCA. Make up classes are not offered if the child misses a class for personal reasons.
