Building the connections that help foster a sense of belonging.
The McDonald Family YMCA, projected to open in 2020, will serve Alexandra Park and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The population of King-Spadina has grown thirty-fold since 1996 and is projected to reach 40,000 by the time the new Centre opens.
Developed in partnership with the City of Toronto and Build Toronto as part of the Waterworks Revitalization project, the new McDonald Family YMCA will offer a foundation upon which members can build the connections that help foster a sense of belonging. The project has been championed by City Councillor Joe Cressy.
In addition to the new 54,000 square foot YMCA Centre, the Waterworks Revitalization project will include affordable housing units, a 299-unit residential development, a public food hall and an improved St. Andrew’s Playground.
