Program Description

Located in the beautiful Muskokas, YMCA Camp Pine Crest has been operating premiere campingand canoe tripping for 110years. YMCA Camp Pine Crest operates as a summer camp in July and August and provides outdoor centre programs to a variety of school and special interest groups during the fall, winter and spring. The Wellness Centre staff at Pine Crest check in with their campers numerous times during their session to ensure they are healthy and feel comfortable.

Major Duties

  • Assisting in the daily operations of the Summer Wellness Department.
  • Assessing campers and staff who bring concerns, helping with administration of medication and completing documentation.
  • Assisting with completing scheduled wellness checks.
  • Stocking first aid kits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Successful applicants to this role will need to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening from their local police service before their first day of volunteering and every three years on the anniversary of their first day of volunteering.
  • Nursing student, registered Nurse, previous nursing experience, or other medical professional.
  • If a RN, must provide RN number and a copy of medical malpractice insurance.
  • Successful applicants to this role will need to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening from their local police service before their first day of volunteering and every three years on the anniversary of their first day of volunteering.
  • Wilderness First Aid Certification an asset.
