This is the first required course to become a Lifeguard. You can take Bronze Star before this course, but it's not required. Participants will develop an understanding of lifesaving principles and learn valuable skills needed to be successful in an aquatic emergency. Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries, recognized by Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board.
Prerequisite: Age 13 or Bronze Star certification.

The Oshawa Y is a family-friendly centre offering child care, health and fitness services, and community programming. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year. On-site parking is available free for members.
