In addition to following the provincial curriculum, the professional and experienced teachers at the YMCA Academy offer an innovative learning experience that features:

Grade 9 and 10 Applied credits to help students enter college or the workplace

Grade 11 and 12 credits focused on students’ career goals to help them enter college, prepare for university, or find a job

A computer education program that includes media studies, digital photography, and teleconferencing in a wireless laptop environment

An on-staff remediation specialist who works with exceptional students, including those who are gifted, have mild learning disabilities, or require English language assistance

An on-staff cooperative education specialist who helps students find cooperative education placements and job shadowing opportunities, and provides contacts at YMCA Employment Centres across the city

An on-staff science specialist who works with students in modern lab facilities

An English specialist to help students at all levels of literacy
