Greenest Employers

In April 2013, The YMCA of Greater Toronto has been named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for the third year in a row due to success in fostering a culture of environmental awareness.

Canada's Best Diversity Employers

On February 19, 2013, the YMCA was named as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers by Mediacorp Canada. The YMCA believes in enabling everyone to achieve physical, social, emotional and mental health by ensuring our work environment is welcoming, engaging, and socially inclusive. We share a vision of an inclusive, healthy and dynamic society in which every person regardless of background, experience or circumstance is able to participate and benefit fully.

Canada's Top Employers for Young People

On September 25, 2012, the YMCA was named as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People. The average age of employees at our Association is 35 years old and 41% of our staff are under 28 years of age. Many of our young staff work for us while they are in school and just last summer we hired 740 young people across the GTA in camps, HFR centres and employment offices. The YMCA's commitment to young adults is reflected in Strong Start Great Future and in supporting them in their first job experiences by helping them to be successful in this new phase of their lives.
